Tara Morrison Remembered as a Beloved Parent as Busselton Court Proceedings Continue Following Their April 2024 Death
Tara Morrison, 38, was a parent from Western Australia whose life ended tragically at a Busselton home in April 2024.
Police discovered Morrison inside the home, approximately 220 kilometers, or 137 miles, south of Perth, after arriving for a welfare check.
Authorities reported that Morrison sustained 40 stab wounds.
Two defendants, aged 30 and 29, initially entered not-guilty pleas when their trial began.
About two weeks into proceedings, the 30-year-old defendant changed their plea to guilty on a Thursday, while the other defendant maintained a not-guilty plea.
The court heard that Morrison was last seen alive after being dropped off at the Busselton residence.
Investigators said the two defendants later traveled to Margaret River, approximately 50 kilometers, or 31 miles, away before separating.
The guilty defendant’s case was scheduled to return to court on Nov. 5, while the continuing trial retained the presumption of innocence unless the court determined otherwise.
Morrison’s death leaves a lasting absence for everyone who knew and cared for the Western Australian parent.
