Carol Courtemanche, 78, and Paul Courtemanche, 76, Remembered After Fatal Attleboro House Fire
Carol Courtemanche, 78, and Paul Courtemanche, 76, died following a fire at their home on Andover Avenue in Attleboro, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.
Police and firefighters arrived at approximately 11:28 a.m. after a health aide requested a welfare check and received no response from inside the residence.
First responders entered the home, found the couple deceased, and extinguished a significant smoldering fire on the first floor.
Responders also found the couple’s cat deceased inside the house.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office formally identified Carol and Paul Courtemanche.
Officials said the incident was not considered suspicious, while authorities continue investigating the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
The Attleboro community mourns the loss of Carol and Paul and extends sincere condolences to everyone grieving their passing.
