Cameron Witham and Audrey Witham died in a single-car crash around 5:45 p.m. Thursday on Southeast 110th Street in Cherokee County, Kansas.
Cameron was driving a 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis north about three miles from Galena when the car struck the right side of the Spring River Bridge, crossed the roadway, and hit a tree.
Kansas Highway Patrol troopers found both occupants deceased at the scene, and authorities reported that both wore seat belts.
No other vehicles were involved, and the investigation remains open.
Cameron lived in Webb City, Missouri, while Audrey lived in Joplin, Missouri.
The crash occurred about a quarter-mile north of Southeast Turkey Creek Road, near the Missouri state line.
Their sudden passing leaves family members, friends, and their southwest Missouri communities mourning two young lives lost far too soon.
